ABOUT US
Gaël Petermann and Florian Bédat first met at the watchmaking school of Geneva in 2007 where they studied until 2011. After 2 and a half years working in Harry Winston, Florian Bédat join Gaël at Lange & Söhne in Glasshütte.
In September 2014 Gaël came back in Switzerland where he started to restore vintage and complicate watches in Geneva. 2 years later, Florian decided to join Gaël and they opened a workshop in Renens. In November 2017, Petermann Bédat Sàrl was created.
In 2018 they got a great opportunity to work with a specialised R&D partner and created together a watch from scratch. In 2019 their first in-house watch was born.
ABOUT THE REF 1967
Influenced by pocket watches and the finest german watchmaking, Petermann Bédat unveils in 2018 their very first timepiece, a 340-hours work of art featuring the in-house dead-beat second caliber 171. The 30mm caliber is regulated by a large “Breguet-style” balance wheel, and an impressive designed dead-beat ancre.
Entirely decorated by hand, the plate & bridges are made of german silver, displaying different kind of finishing on both sides: inward beveling, black-mirror polish on steel parts, Côtes de Genève, Sunray & Circular graining...
Inspired by the 60s grail era, the dial represents the new design language of the brand. This new semi-open dial has been created to highlight the craftmanship within. The central plate cut-outs are designed to frame the nicely sized rubies, as they are one of the vital elements of the movement.
